It’s no secret that people love “The Secret”. What’s surprising though is that people wish their lives away and never accomplish anything.
The secret to accomplishing your goals is to decide what your goals are.
Write them down.
Read them out loud to yourself every morning.
Look for ways in your life that you can move into achieving your goals.
Setting goals and then taking action is the only way to get what you want in life.
Think it, write it, read it, do it!

“Hey it’s Carlin from EarnMoneyblogging.net. I’m interested in talking about a book I read this week. I got kind of frustrated in the middle of the week because I have a lot of stuff on my mind, and I want to accomplish a lot of goals, but I don’t always know how to do it.
And, I read a lot of Amazon books. So if you’ve heard of The Secret, of course you have, it’s not a brand new secret, it’s kind of and old secret. It’s basically the power of prayer.

So, people think that the secret is something phenomenal and amazing and if they wish and wish and wish, it’s going to come true. But, reality is, you can wish all you want, but if you are not putting any effort behind anything nothing is going to happen.
But, part of the secret that does make sense is envisioning your life – having vision for your life. Trying to imagine where you want to be, to imagine what you want to have happen. That’s part of the secret that people don’t always want to do.
They drive around in their cars and look at the people in the houses and think “Why is that not me? Why don’t I have a great house like that? Why do I not have a great life like that?” [ Sounds like a song I know from the 80’s – Talking Heads: Once in a Lifetime watch at minute 1:21]
And, basically, it’s because you haven’t put down any goals. You haven’t decided to accomplish something. You’ve decided to sit around and wish for something to happen and want something to happen. But you haven’t decided to do something about it.
How can you possibly figure out how and what you are supposed to do?
One of the things the Secret does and other people suggest is writing down what it is.
Imagine this: instead of wishing for something to happen write down what you want to happen. Write it down on a piece of paper. Write down exactly where you want to be. Write down exactly where you want to go. Write down how much money you want to be making. Write down ideas for how you might want to make it.
Start putting things in lists. Wake up in the morning and put down some goals for things you want to accomplish. That’s how it’s going to happen. But it’s not going to happen overnight just because you wished for shit to happen.
So I read this book on Amazon, and it’s basically talking about how to accomplish what you want. So I am going to read you what it recommends.
First thing you are supposed to do is write down a list for everything you want. Don’t leave anything out.
Write down where you want to live, what kind of person you want to be married to, what kind of job you want to be working, what kind of salary you want to be making, write down in very minute details how many kids you want to have (if you want to have kids – ok so don’t be so specific about kids – I was just rambling in the video), write down where you want to live, if you want to live in the mountains, if you want to have a condo, if you want to live in a sweet studio apartment overlooking Manhattan, which would be kind of cool. If you want to be a successful artist, if you want to be a successful designer, if you want to be successful in your career at the bank, if you want to get a promotion, start writing that stuff down.
And, in the morning, wake up and read it out loud to yourself. Take your list of the stuff you’ve written down, read it out loud to yourself, and I promise you it will start motivating you to start doing things.
Because, once you start saying out loud what it is that you want to do your brain will start thinking, “Okay these are my goals.” I’ve been saying them out loud, now what am I doing to accomplish them?
What am I doing next time I see an opportunity to do something positive at work that might get me a promotion, or next time I see my boss what am I doing that will create a good vibe in the office?
So, what you need to do is write down all your goals, everything you want, and read it out loud to yourself and that will get it inside your brain, it will get inside your heart, it will get out to the universe. And, I do believe by doing that, shit will happen. And, that’s no secret.
Once you start making goals, start following through on them, then things will happen.
Alright, so that’s it. That’s my secret….which is no secret. The secret is there’s not a big secret.
The secret is:
- Make Goals
- Write down what you want
- And start looking for ways to accomplish it
So, that’s it!!!”
