Learn How to Become an Affiliate Marketer Without a Website
You want to become an affiliate marketer and make money online. But you don’t know how to design a website, and you don’t have the money to pay for one either.
The beauty of affiliate marketing is that you can start promoting products today without a website.
Yup, that’s right. No website, no problem!
Here are 5 affiliate marketing tips and methods to help you get started promoting other people’s products without a website.
The best ways to promote Affiliate product links for free is by using one of the below online tools:
- Youtube Videos
- Social Media
- Forums or Online Discussion Boards
Promoting Affiliate Products Via Youtube
This is one of the easiest ways to start promoting affiliate products. If you have a Gmail account you can easily set up your Youtube page and create short videos about affiliate products.
One way I create affiliate products with my Youtube channel is by creating a Power Point presentation of Best Selling Products in a category from Amazon.
Promoting affiliate products with Youtube is easy.
Secondly, you can copy and paste the photos from Amazon to your computer desktop.
Next, insert the products in a pretty logical way into the Power Point presentation and create a video by choosing the video output option after you create your Power Point presentation.
Finally, head over to your Youtube channel and upload the video.
In the body of the section under the video you can add in links to the Amazon products you listed in the video. You can create a list of the products so that the viewer can easily click over to Amazon via your links.
Promoting affiliate products on Youtube doesn’t have to be just for Amazon products. You can promote pretty much anything that you can make a video for.
And, you don’t have to just make videos on Power Point. I do this because I don’t want to buy the products myself just to make a video. Some people like to buy the products and then make a video talking about the product on video.
There are a ton of successful people making money this way so it’s up to you to decide what works best.
Finally, when promoting products on Youtube try to find categories for products that are expensive! You don’t want to waste your time on a bunch of products that are not lucrative. Pick expensive products.
Take a look at this video for an example of a successful affiliate marketing video using Youtube.
Using Social Media to Promote Affiliate Products
Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr – these are all great places to promote affiliate links without a website.
Pinterest – again, like with Youtube, Amazon is an awesome place to start pinning from. You need to be signed up for the Amazon Affiliate program to make this work.
Once you have your affiliate account created, you can start pinning. You will need to pin directly from the Amazon product page.
Once you have pinned something you will need to Edit the Pin.
Why? Because just pinning the product photo from the product page isn’t going to include your link code.
After you pin, Pinterest will ask you if you want to see the pin live. Click on the button and when you get to your live pin, click the edit button. You should copy the Amazon Affiliate link code from the Amazon product page. Paste your Amazon affiliate link code into the current link position over the existing code.
Do this so that when someone clicks on your pin they are taken directly to Amazon via your Amazon Affiliate link. This is the only way to get credit if they buy something by getting to Amazon via your link.
Facebook – you can paste your Amazon affiliate code into Facebook and create a post. I have a dedicated Facebook page for a niche category where I copy links into posts on the page. It’s pretty simple. Find a niche that has products on Amazon and start posting links.
You will want to share other content besides just Amazon products to make the page more interesting and get more likes… so choose something that is popular and you can find a lot of online content to share with your fans.
Twitter – same things apply. You can share affiliate products on Twitter all day long!
Just try to make everything more interesting than being a spammy link poster.
Create interesting content AND post affiliate links…. just mix it up so that you are not annoying.
Tumblr – again, use the same strategy as above. For all of the affiliate marketing methods using Social Media, you will have to come up with your own strategies that work.
Experiment and see what works best for you.
Photos, photos, photos! To market your affiliate links via social media be sure to use a lot of photos. People love images and visuals. Give the people what they want, and they will give you what you want in return.
Forums or Online Discussion Boards to Promote Affiliate Products
To promote affiliate links on forums and online discussion boards you can use a similar strategy as above. Find relevant discussions online that you can promote a product.
This is an opportunity to promote books, online courses, website themes, web hosting, plugins, affiliate programs that will teach them how to become an affiliate marketer, and pretty much anything that will HELP THEM with the problem they are talking about in the forum.
The goal of posting in forums is to add value and give people something that will improve their situation.
Let’s assume you are a new mother and have time at home. Maybe you found a product that fixes a problem you are having as a new mom. This is a great opportunity to share the product on parenting forums.
The focus of your post should be to help people out by sharing how the product helped you. This will make it so much more enticing for them to click on your affiliate link.
It really doesn’t matter what your hobby or life situation is, if you have a product you love and you can find a forum for it, you can promote your affiliate links in the forums… and you don’t need to own a website! Genius!
Ebooks to Promote Affiliate Links
Writing ebooks is relatively simple. If you can write a blog post, you can write an ebook.
Ebooks about non-fiction topics are easy to generate, and you can promote affiliate links in the ebook.
I recently bought an ebook by a lady who makes her living online. She promotes the heck out of affiliate products all throughout the book. She does offer actionable advice, but because she promotes her affiliate links throughout, I am pretty sure she is getting a lot of money from her ebook.
To write an ebook, all you really need is to sign up for the Kindle Publishing platform, write a book, create a cover, and upload your book.
I’ve written a couple of short non-fiction ebooks. The more you write, the more money you’ll make. I have written 3 and only make about $15 per month… but my topics are not big money makers.
Writing about the big topics will earn you more money if you take the time to write a decent book.
The big topics are Money, Love & Relationships, and Health & Fitness.
I’ve also studied how to write ebooks from the Kindle Money Mastery guru, Stefan. He makes a 6 figure income by writing or outsourcing ebooks. Right now you can pick up his ebook program for $.99 on Amazon. If you want to learn the ebook game, he’s the best at it.
Email Marketing Promotions
How do you promote affiliate links in your email? Well, if you just have friends and family in your email list this may be a bit dicey. You don’t want to aggravate your family, but you can share with them products or programs that have helped you out.
Include a link to the product in your email message naturally is the best way to promote products to your family.
You will want to make sure that you don’t spam your family and friends though. Write something thoughtful and helpful so that they will not get annoyed.
Email promotion is my least favorite way to make money affiliate marketing without a website… and I only mildy recommend it.
Try Youtube, Facebook and Pinterest first. People love to find things on their own. And, you may have more luck getting your friends to click on your affiliate links if they are on a social media platform with you already.
